Village placement in Kingory

in: Growth

There are basically three standard ways to place your villages or cities in Kingory, spread out, clustered or a hybrid method. Having your cities clustered makes it easy to transport goods and troops between them, and overall makes them quite easy to manage. However, it also makes it easier for potential enemies to scout you out and figure out your total strength. It also limits the number of wilderness you can conquer as well as the number of NPC and player cities you can plunder.

Spreading out your cities makes it easier for you to farm a large area of NPC and player cities, and also makes it easier to find enough wilderness to conquer for each of your cities. If you get into a fight with someone it’s also less likely he’ll manage to find all your cities. Transporting stuff between a really spread out empire kinda sucks though, both troops and resources take ages from one city to another.

I personally prefer the hybrid method with one or two cities being far away from the others. These two cities will be used to launch most of your attacks from, plundering and conquering players and NPC cities. You can easily move them around using relocation or advanced relocation. You’ll try to avoid trouble in the area where your main cities are, and pretty much only attack from the floating cities.
